The Best RVs for Remote Work (2027 Models)
Updated 2026-10-16 · ACamper RV Research
For most people, the best RV for remote work is a fifth wheel with an office room that has a door, like the Keystone Montana 3600RO or Brinkley Model Z 3515. Both also have a second desk in the living room, so two people can be on calls at once.
On a travel-trailer budget, the Grand Design Imagine 2670MK has a real desk across the back wall and is the easiest of these to find used. 92 are listed right now, starting at $18,000.
If you want a motorhome, the 2027 Newmar Grand Star 3940 can be ordered with an office in place of its bunks, and Starlink comes standard.
What makes an RV work as an office
A door, not just a desk
A desk in the living room works if you live alone. If anyone else is in the RV during your calls, you want a room you can close off. In this list, the "Private room" tag means there's a door or wall between you and the living area.
Two workspaces if you're two workers
The most common complaint from working couples is one person's calls bleeding into the other's. The Montana 3600RO, Brinkley Model Z 3515 and Brinkley Model G 4150 each have a private office plus a second desk out front. Noise-cancelling software like Krisp helps when you can't separate.
Power for a full workday
A laptop, a monitor and a Starlink Mini together pull about 100–150 watts, roughly 1 kWh over an 8-hour day. A single 100Ah lithium battery stores about 1.3 kWh. If you plan to work off-grid, look for lithium batteries, an inverter and solar, or budget to add them.
Internet you control
Campground Wi-Fi won't carry a video call. Most working RVers run Starlink plus at least one cellular hotspot through a router that switches between them. Starlink needs open sky, and cell service needs a tower, so wooded sites and remote desert each favor a different one.
Climate you can run on hookups
A 50-amp hookup lets you run two air conditioners and still power your desk. On 30-amp you'll be juggling loads in summer. A heat pump or a four-season package matters if you plan to work through a cold snap.
Travel trailers
Cheaper, lighter and easier to tow than a fifth wheel. The tradeoff is that most trailer "offices" are a desk in the living area, not a room.
Grand Design Imagine 2670MK: Best value
A full-width desk runs across the back wall under the rear window, with overhead cabinets and a pantry beside it. The kitchen island sits in the middle, so you aren't working in the cooking path. Grand Design has kept this layout essentially unchanged since 2019, which is why the used market is deep and a 2020 shops the same as a 2026.
Watch for: The desk is open to the living room. Anyone watching TV is in your video-call background. Owners on the MyGrandRV forum mention a hard-to-reach water pump at winterizing time.

Jayco Jay Feather 27MK: Lightest rear desk
This is a similar idea to the Imagine: a full-width rear desk with an ottoman under the back window, an island kitchen and a front queen bedroom. It has a lower GVWR (8,850 lbs) and was built to Jayco's lighter Jay Feather spec, which suits buyers who don't want to buy a bigger truck.
Watch for: The floorplan is new for 2025, so used ones are scarce. The desk is open to the living area.

Lance 2465: Best desk away from the living room
Lance puts a long desk with drawers in the rear bedroom, facing the king bed, with closets on both sides. RV Travel's review of the 2021 model noted the TV rises out of the desk cabinet. The bathroom sits between the bedroom and the living room, so you can close yourself off from the rest of the trailer.
Watch for: Your office is your bedroom, so if your partner sleeps late you start late. New pricing is high for the size. The value is in a recent used one.

Airstream Flying Cloud 30FB Office: Best true office in a travel trailer
Airstream built this floorplan for remote workers. It takes the bunk corner of the 30FB Bunk and makes it an office with a built-in desk, drawers and a privacy divider with blackout curtains for video calls. It's the only travel trailer here where the office is its own space. For 2027 it's sold as the 30FB Office Twin, with twin beds up front.
Watch for: Price. The office is compact, more a nook than a room. Shore power is 30-amp unless you order the dual-A/C package, which brings 50-amp.

Fifth wheels
This is where real offices with doors live. Every pick here needs a heavy truck, so read the tow line before you fall in love.
Keystone Montana 3600RO: Best for two people working
The whole rear of the trailer is an office: an L-shaped desk along the back and curb-side walls, a closet, L-track on the wall for shelving, and a door. Out front, a pull-out dinette in the living slide doubles as a second desk, so two people can work in separate rooms. Three A/C units and a 20 cu ft refrigerator make it a full-time setup.
Watch for: It's new for 2027, so there's no used market or owner track record yet. It sleeps only 3–4.

Brinkley Model Z 3515: Best office with a door at a mid-size price
The rear room has an adjustable-height L-desk (sit or stand), cabinets and washer/dryer prep, so it works as office, laundry and mudroom in one. In the living slide, a sliding desk/dining table gives a second person a place to work. It's about 2,400 lbs lighter dry than the Montana 3600RO.
Watch for: Brinkley now lists the 3515 as "dealer stock only," so buy one while lots still have them (48 listed new). Its current office floorplan is the Model Z 3610, whose bonus room has a pull-out desk plus a flip bunk and trundle. The office also doubles as the laundry room if you add a washer/dryer.

Forest River RiverStone 425FO: Biggest, most private office
The office fills the nose of the trailer behind a swinging entertainment center. It has a large desk, bookshelves and windows on three sides. It's the most separated workspace on this list. You could be on a call while someone watches a movie on the other side of the wall.
Watch for: It's 13' 5" tall, close to 45 feet long and heavy. It's a parked-for-the-season rig, not a weekend mover.

Grand Design Solitude 388MBS: Best office that's also a guest room
The middle den has a dresser/desk, a tri-fold sofa with a flip-up bunk above, and a TV. It's an office on weekdays and a bedroom when the grandkids visit. Buyers on a tighter budget can look at the older Solitude 378MBS (2021–2024), which used the same mid-den approach.
Watch for: The desk is dresser-height and dresser-sized. Plan on a separate chair and a monitor arm.

Keystone Arcadia Select 24SRE: Smallest fifth wheel with a desk
Under 29 feet with one slide, but there's a flip-up desk on the rear wall, a walk-in pantry and a booth dinette for a second laptop. It's the way to get fifth-wheel towing manners without buying a 40-footer.
Watch for: The flip-up desk is small and open to the room. It isn't in Keystone's 2027 lineup we found, so you're buying leftover new or recent used.

Toy hauler
If you work all week and ride all weekend.
Brinkley Model G 4150: Best for work plus toys
A private front office off the bedroom has an adjustable executive L-desk with a hutch and shelves. In the living room, the dining table converts to a second L-desk. Behind that is an 11-foot garage with a drop-down bed. It's the only toy hauler we found with a real office room.
Watch for: The price spread between dealers is huge ($165k to $250k for the same floorplan). Shop the number, not the sticker.

Motorhomes
You can move without hitching, and a passenger can work while you drive. Few motorhomes have a real office, but these come closest.
Newmar Grand Star 3940: Best motorhome office
For 2027, Newmar lets you order the 3940 with a work-from-anywhere office in place of the bunk room: a desk, a window and a door down the hall from the living area. Starlink is now standard on Grand Star. With 150 gallons of fresh water, it can stay out a long time between hookups.
Watch for: Most 3940s on lots are built with bunks. You'll likely need to order the office. A 2026 or earlier 3940 has bunks, not an office.

Price: 9 listed from $299,000, but most are bunk-room builds, so ask about the office · Newmar lists Grand Star from $385,104
Winnebago Vista 34R: Best gas Class A for work
The rear bedroom's king Murphy bed folds up against the wall to reveal a full dinette workstation, behind a sliding door. In the morning the bedroom becomes an office with a door. It's gas, so it costs less to buy and service than a diesel pusher.
Watch for: You fold the bed every morning. We found only 2025 and 2026 model years, so supply is thin.

Winnebago Ekko 22A: Best for one person working off-grid
It has no real desk. What it does have is power: a 320Ah lithium battery (about 4 kWh), 455 watts of solar, a 2,000-watt inverter and a second alternator that recharges while you drive. One person can work for days without hookups at a swivel galley work table or the front table. All-wheel drive gets you to the quiet spot.
Watch for: It's tight for two people working. 30-amp service and a single A/C mean hot afternoons in the South are a challenge.

Picks other lists get wrong
Keystone Montana 3941FO
This is still the #1 pick on most remote-work lists. Its front office is excellent, but Keystone's 2027 Montana lineup (3100RL, 3500RD, 3600RO, 3800FL, 3900RK) dropped it. That makes it a strong used buy: 14 are listed from $67,799. The 3600RO above is its 2027 replacement.
Fleetwood Frontier GTX 37RT "Corner Office"
The Corner Office was a 2023–2025 Frontier GTX option. The 2027 Frontier 38RT has a bench and dresser in that corner, not an office. If you want one, you're shopping used, and none are listed with us right now.
Forest River Wildwood / Salem 29VIEW
This trailer had a hidden flex room behind the entertainment center with a desk, a flip-up bunk and a door. It was built only for 2024–2025, so it's a budget used pick now: Wildwood 29VIEWs are listed from $26,299 and Salem 29VIEWs from $26,900.
Brinkley Model Z 3100
This one sometimes shows up as an office floorplan. It isn't one. It has a sliding desk/dining table in the living room, which is nice but isn't an office. The 3515 is the Model Z with the office.
How much power does a workday take?
| Laptop | 30–65 W |
| 27" monitor | 20–40 W |
| Starlink Mini | 20–40 W average (Starlink's own figure) |
| Starlink Standard | about 50–75 W |
| Router / cell hotspot | about 10 W |
| One roof A/C (13.5k BTU) | about 1,200–1,500 W while running |
Internet: Starlink plus cellular
As of mid-2026, Starlink's Roam plans in the US are about $55/month for 100 GB, $80 for 300 GB and $175 for unlimited, after a price change in May–June 2026. Check starlink.com before you buy, because these change often.,Most working RVers pair Starlink with at least one cellular plan, ideally two carriers, through a router that fails over automatically. Starlink needs open sky, which wooded campgrounds don't have. Cell needs a tower, which the open desert often doesn't have. Having both covers most places you'll camp.
FAQ
What is the best RV for working remotely?
For a couple who both work, a fifth wheel with a private office plus a second desk, like the Keystone Montana 3600RO or Brinkley Model Z 3515. For one person on a budget, a travel trailer with a full rear desk, like the Grand Design Imagine 2670MK, which is easy to find used from about $18,000.
Which travel trailer has a dedicated office?
The Airstream Flying Cloud 30FB Office is the only current travel trailer we found with an office corner that has its own privacy divider. The Grand Design Imagine 2670MK and Jayco Jay Feather 27MK have full-width rear desks that are open to the living area, and the Lance 2465 puts its desk in the rear bedroom.
Is Starlink enough to work from an RV?
It's enough most of the time, but not under trees. Starlink needs a clear view of the sky, so most remote workers carry a cellular hotspot as a backup and use a router that switches between them automatically.
How much battery do I need to work off-grid in an RV?
A laptop, monitor and Starlink Mini use roughly 1 kWh in an 8-hour day. Two 100Ah lithium batteries (about 2.5 kWh) plus 400 watts of solar will cover a workday with room for lights and the water pump. Air conditioning needs hookups or a generator.
Do I need a 50-amp RV to work from it?
Not for your desk. A laptop and Starlink use very little power. 50-amp matters for running two air conditioners in summer while everything else stays on. On a 30-amp site you'll need to watch what runs at once.
What truck do I need to tow an RV with an office?
Most travel trailers here suit a half-ton or 3/4-ton pickup. Every fifth wheel with a real office room is 1-ton territory, and the RiverStone 425FO and Brinkley Model G 4150 need a high-rated 1-ton dually or a medium-duty truck. Check your truck's payload against the loaded pin weight, not just its tow rating.
How we researched this
We started from the 858 floorplans in the ACamper catalog flagged for office features, plus every model named on the top-ranking remote-work lists.
We checked each floorplan against its current manufacturer drawing to confirm where the desk is and whether it has a door, and dropped any that didn't hold up.
Specs come from manufacturer spec sheets for the newest model year. Options change weights, so confirm with the dealer.
Prices and counts come from ACamper's crawl of dealer inventory through Oct 14, 2026. Live counts next to each pick update daily.
