State park campground in Gastonia, NC.
A North Carolina state park in Gaston County, 32 miles west of Charlotte, built around two mountain peaks with wide views over the Piedmont. The Ridgeline Trail crosses into South Carolina to Kings Mountain National Military Park and Kings Mountain State Park.
Camping is tents only, at Sparrow Springs. Every site is a hike of about a mile from the parking lot, and everything has to be carried in. There are no RV or trailer sites and no hookups.
Ten backpack sites take up to 6 people each, with a grill, picnic table and two tent pads. Group sites hold 10 to 25 people. Drinking water and vault toilets are near the sites.
